Who We Are

We have been thinking about this for a long time.

The question that drives Lakarya was never a business question. It was a human one: why do organizations consistently fail to recognize the people who would genuinely transform them? Not for lack of effort. Not for lack of process. But because the process they use was built to answer the wrong question.
In 2006, long before artificial intelligence entered any conversation about talent acquisition, Lakarya’s leadership developed the Candidate Matrix — a structured, behavioral assessment tool using correlation mathematics to evaluate not just a candidate’s qualifications, but their harmonization with the total dynamics of the organization they were entering. The tool was built to answer a different question than the industry was asking. Not ‘does this person meet the requirements?’ but ‘will this person thrive in this specific environment?’ The math was done in Excel. It was painstaking and didn’t scale. But the insight behind it was right then, and it is right now.
The intervening two decades gave us the technology to act on that insight at scale. Today, ChromataTM — The Science of Human Harmony — performs in seconds the multidimensional correlation analysis that once required hours of careful human calculation. The question is the same. The precision is not.

We live this. We don’t just say it.

Every company in America says it values its people. Most of them mean it, in the abstract. The difference between saying it and living it shows up in the specific moments when values are tested — not in the values statement on the wall. At Lakarya, our people know certain things from experience, not from a handbook.
Excellence is expected. Mistakes are not punished.
There is a meaningful difference between those two things, and we hold it carefully. A culture that punishes honest failure produces people who hide their failures — which is far more dangerous than the failures themselves.
Struggle is not a performance problem.
When an employee is genuinely struggling in their role, our first response is to help — with training, with guidance, with an honest conversation about what isn’t working and why. We do not manage people out before we have genuinely tried to bring them forward.
Personal hardship does not end employment.
When hard times befall our people’s personal lives — and they will, because our people are human beings — Lakarya does not use performance metrics as a convenient exit. We take up the slack. Arvind Sudarsanam founded Lakarya over a decade ago with a simple conviction: that the IT staffing and solutions industry could be done with more integrity, more precision, and more genuine care for the people at the center of every engagement. Under his leadership, Lakarya has earned Inc 5000 recognition five times, built lasting enterprise relationships across North America and globally, and developed the proprietary methodology that defines the company’s work.

Patrick J. G. Troy

Vice President, Sales & AI Labs
Patrick Troy brought to Lakarya something rare: thirty-five years of sales leadership experience grounded in a discipline that predates the private sector entirely. Before managing $1.2 billion in product revenue at Sun Microsystems, before building award-winning sales teams at Hitachi Data Systems and Xyratex, before founding his own executive talent acquisition firm — Patrick spent eleven years as a US Navy Cryptologist, developing the instinct for precision, pattern recognition, and environmental analysis that would later define his approach to talent.
It was Patrick who first developed the Candidate Matrix in 2006 — the correlation-mathematics-based assessment tool that became the intellectual foundation for ChromataTM. The matrix was not a theory. It was built and deployed in live enterprise engagements, including a talent acquisition program for Hitachi Data Systems competing against Amazon, Google, and Microsoft for the world’s top cloud and IoT architects. The insight it produced is the same insight ChromataTM expresses today: that the right question in hiring is never about requirements. It is always about harmonization.
At Lakarya, Patrick leads sales strategy, business development, and the AI Labs team responsible for ChromataTM and The ScriberTM. He is a published author, an accomplished public speaker, a US Navy veteran, and an Eagle Scout. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from National University, San Diego.
